A case study on sandplay therapy for a child with voice tic

Abstract
This case study was to investigate the effect of the individual sand play therapy on a child with the voice tic. The subject was a 8-year-old girl with voice tic problems. The tic is interpreted as unstable mother child relationship. in this case, voice tic also showed by her mother conflicts and depression. The case formulation about this case was that the voice tic problem came from unsecured attachment with mother. sand play therapy use a method. Even therapy can be effective when the clients are not talked what symbols mean. For children, it can be useful for clients who have difficulties in verbal expressions or avoid to talk. The sandplay therapy session was to express negative emotion for a child and form emotional security and express self expression of active and recover ego consciousness increase the stable and improve relationship with her mother and enhance self-confidency. The child became able to express her feeling of fear and anxiety by sandplay therapy. Through sandplay therapy, the child was decreased withdrawn behavior, her feeling easily and her rigid emotion relax through the experience of the full acceptance. However, This case haven¡¯t been carrie out enough because of the continuable case. so the continuing counseling for her mother depressive mood and her anxiety are still awaiting solution to be solved.
